All of a sudden I cannot link to external data in Calc

I used to just insert my web address in to "link to external data" hit enter and it would work but now it does nothing. I have tried reinstalling and it still does not work. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

Any link does not work now, this website I have used over a thousand times to import tables.

The "link to external data" function works fine in my AOO 4.1.5 and LO 5.4.7

Maybe
- those websites (the structure of the webpages) was changed / damaged.
- your settings of the internet security was changed.
- your internet connection is slower than before / the number of recognizable tables is larger than before.

Wait a few second after you hit the Enter, then adjust the settings when the appeared.

Can you share the spreadsheet that attempts to get data from the given URL?

Any spreadsheet and any link it does not work at all, all of a sudden. Does not matter if the spreadsheet is brand new or a year old.

The function works for me in my LibreOffice 4.4.7.

But it not work perfectly with your linked Webpage (maybe the privacy policy has changed...). A message appeared instead of the tables:

Its not the website as I can import on to Excel with no problems I just prefer Open Office for this particular spreadsheet and like I said it will now not let me import any website it does literally nothing when I click enter. Old or new spreadsheet, saved or unsaved. It is absolutely baffling me and is super annoying. I have completely uninstalled and then installed older versions and it still will not do anything.

A quick thought: has your firewall/antivirus been set to permit OpenOffice (in particular OpenOffice Calc) access to the internet?

After entering the link you provided into the Link to External Data dialog and pressing Enter, I get about a 10 second delay before the Import Options dialog opens.

Re-installation usually retains the old user profile. Have you tried resetting the user profile?
