Who wrote the layout code for Writer?

Post by DavidThi808 »

Hi all;

Does anyone know who wrote the main layout code (where text is placed on the page, inserting soft line & page breaks) for Writer? I want to ask them if we can hire them for some consulting work. If you know who it is, please email me: david at windward dot net (to avoid their name/email being blasted out here for all).

thanks - dave

There may be names recorded in the programming source code; you can download from apache openoffice.org it and check.

You could also ask on the developers list, although it seems that few of the long-time OOo developers are still active now that Sun is gone.

And bear in mind that parts of OOo must be pushing twenty years old.

It would be helpful to know what DavidThi808 intends. If a special layout is needed, this can often be easily arrived at using the standard facilities in OpenOffice.
