RE: Need Help to "Debug" REPETITIVE Crashes of New Release 4.1.8 in My Win-10 Laptop
My problem in a nutshell: I have not been able to run AOO 4.1.8 with simple text and calc files, after its recent first installation, without immediate and repetitive crashing. No work with the app possible in this environment!
I am attempting to use it in a clean Win-10 environment on my 2-year-old HP Laptop. Several subsequent "clean" installs of 4.1.8 (after uninstalling previous download) offered the same result. Crash circumstances: After installing 4.1.8, upon starting AOO from the Win-10 START ICON, all attempts at keeping AOO from immediately crashing lead soon to another CRASH along with display of the AOO Document Recovery dialog box, showing a single file named "Untitled 1" as the file to be "recovered" ... followed by an endless CRASH loop if there is an attempt to "recover" the ghost file. I have no idea where this "Untitled 1" file comes from.
Several repeats of this overall procedure resulted in the same "crash loop".
I have used earlier releases of AOO (prior to 4.1.8) mostly with great success in a Windows environment for over ten years. My text and calc files are simple, with nothing exotic. Nor is there anything unusual or exotic about my Win-10 setup or environment.
