Need Help with backward typing in documents

Post by Blueeyedmichael »

in a couple of paragraphs I get backwards typing.

First noticed when an emailed document had paragraphs in reverse print.

If I go into the paragraphs and type it goes from right to left. Arial and Times New Roman font.

I am thinking there must be hidden codes but I cannot find how to see the codes to delete them

Please see attached. Please help .. it’s a BIG hassle fir long time now

HERE IS A SAMPLE:

All Substance(s) Used: ‮ None ‮ X Alcohol ‮ Cocaine Powder Crack ‮X Marijuana/Hashish‬‬‬‬
>> Lifetime << ‮ Opiates ‮ Amphetamines ‮ Hallucinogens ‮ Heroin ‮ Inhalants ‬‬‬‬‬
‮ Methadone ‮ "Designer" drugs (Ecstasy, etc.) ‮ X Tobacco‬‬‬
Current Medications: Inhaler for emphysema

#1 Substance: Alcohol None X Increased tolerance ‮ X Withdrawal ‮ X Used more than intended ‮ X Unable to cut down/stop ‮ X Lot of time spent getting/using ‮ X Gave up/reduced social/work/recreational ‮ Continued to use despite related med/psych problems (3 or more occurring at any time in the same 12-month period)‬‬‬‬‬‬

Abuse Criteria: None X Use in unsafe situations X Failure to fulfill major responsibilities due to use pattern
X Keep using despite social or interpersonal problems Recurrent substance related legal problems (1 or more occurring during the same 12 month period)

Please see attached.
There is not anything attached content now.

The file size limit is 128 KiB in this forum.
Optimize the .png type pictures before you upload them here (set 256 or less color depth).

Or you can share the larger files on a free file sharing service like the Google drive. Put only the link here.

Did you really mean to post in the Paid Support section?

There is no attached file; but perhaps you might look at the setting for text direction on the Alignment tab in Format | Paragraph for affected paragraphs. If there is no visible text direction option, go to Preferences | OpenOffice | Language Settings | Language and select Show UI Elements for bi-directional writing.

Search HELP for right-to-left text for more information.

[Forum] How to attach a document here Note maximum file size is 128K. If your file is larger, use a file sharing site such as Mediafire and post the link here. The link also contains information on how to anonymise your document if it contains confidential information.

You can also check whether the language set for the paragraphs with right to left set is Hebrew, Arabic or another RTL language. If so, change it to English or whatever your language is.
