I agree that I found the temporary ban a bit hard.
But it was temporary only. However, as I check the bans to move users to the Banned user group, I certainly have done that for vishaljagani. My bad.
It has been reversed so if the ban was indeed temporary it should be fine.

I banned him for a while to prevent him from deleting the content of his posts. I don't object to an un-ban, provided that he doesn't repeat that bad behaviour.

OK, then make sure that you anonymize your post and the information it includes to avoid such situation.
If you can re-edit your post to put back what was the issue (without much details, just to get the idea), that would be great.

Provided there is no sensitive information - i.e., real names _and_ contact information - there is rarely (never?) any need to delete posts; doing so renders the remainder of the thread irrelevant and is a waste of the time of those who respond. This is what led to the temporary ban in the first place.

In the circumstance that a file with sensitive information needs to be posted to acquire a solution, we advise that it be anonymised - real names can be masked or replaced by those of cartoon characters or similar; if that is not possible, moderators will usually do so if requested.
