Larger as in the file size (number of kilobytes) is concerned?
Larger as in the dimensions (# of pixels) is concerned?
or both?

Additionally, what is your query about?

Edit 1: If you're referring to the image allowed for your avatar, the forum software, which we have no control over, has limits in place.
Specifically: Maximum dimensions; width: 100 pixels, height: 100 pixels, file size: 16.00 KiB.

If the picture you want to use for your avatar won't fit into these limitations, then you can't use it.

Edit 2: Since the formats you have tried are too big, try .png.. it's been a while, but I believe they have a better compression level and may work for what you're wanting.

No offense intended, but you did use an editing program to save your file as .png rather than just renaming it.
I also noticed that the specs in your first post for your .jpg are different from the specs in your last post, for the same file type.

Obviously you have the will, since you found a way.
Would you mind sharing how you did this, so that others might be able to take advantage of the information?
