Sure--I was thinking more of launching a ship, so I guess "bon voyage" is not quite the right thing to say. Oh well, I'll have to stick to English: Happy sailing!

Brilliant piece of work guys, Kudos to all.

I notice that the graphic there at the moment is a bit blurry, I could fix that for you if you wish or I could get the Art Project guys to present some proposals.

Well, that would be outstanding...

To be honest I was hoping to find one or more guys that would like to do kind of a Google thing with oft changing images for the to bar based on international holidays, OpenOffice.org events and the like.

So this graphic I planned on taking down tomorrow night..

Anyway - if you think you might know some folks that would like to show off a little - have them get in touch.

I have said it before, I am not a graphic artist and I know it.

Looks very nice, what made you decide to put username and avatar on the right though? never seen that on any other forum.
Gotta love new servers too.

We didn't decide that, per se, the folks that designed version 3 of phpBB did. You should see more of it. Although it seems a little odd at first, you find after a while it makes more sense.. at least for those that are using a language that reads form left to right...

First time coming across of these boards though - yes it seems..just a little odd - doesn;t it.

For information, the Beginner section of this forum and the sub-forums were rather appreciated on the French user side, they've implemented that also (except sub-forums but they've increased the number of sections).

So, yes, there are good ideas that are being nursed here 8-)

Congratulations. Haven't fully explored the forum yet but what I see looks good to me. Hope the forum isn't hurt by spam as the the other one is. I notice a few of the helpful names are included here. Great.

The forum looks very nice indeed! Are there any plans to bring in members from oooforum.org, which has been providing a plug to the much-needed gap that this forum has now filled?

I love the look of the forum and usability is very clear. Personally I like the posts being on the left. I'd love to migrate my simpleforum to phpBB if this is what I can expect.

A great feature in this new forum : when you cross post, i.e. when someone has posted while you were answering the same thread, you get a warning showing the update !

Yes, that's a great feature, though a little confusing at first.

I have an idea for how to allow that - or how to allow it to work I should say...but to be honest it is not high on my list of priorities - not that it is not there at all, it is...It has not been forgotten.

Still you may need to bug me a few more times...*chuckle*...honestly I would not expect that I would really look at that in depth, for a test, for another 2-4 weeks, I don't think any longer then that, but there are enough 'tweaks' on my list right now to keep me busy for that long - some of these current ones are not 'tweaks' either - there are a few issues in the back end of the board still - primarily around the email system that have to get 100% fixed first..

Sorry

I'd like the top links bar (Board index < Community < Active forum repeated at the bottom of the page so that if you are far down on the page and want to return to the forum overview you don't have to scroll to the top of the page.

The 'board index' link is already near the bottom of the page - it is on the left of the last blue division.

I hadn't noticed that  but there's room for a link to the active forum (Here Site feedback) as well, isn't there?

:lol; , yes, didn't see that either. Still, that also shows how many differently formatted links there are to parts of the site. I'd like a more uniform formatting.

DockedPalettes.png
I see a potential problem with images in tutorials. I have used some fairly large images in my Tutorials, but I found that if I place them as inline attachments, like this image, then they get resized, and consequently are blurred. If I use IMG code and link to them on my webspace, they are not resized, but then if anything happens to my server, the images may be lost forever.

Is there some way we can upload the images to the OpenOffice Community servers, and then link to them?

The full-sized image is available to everyone if they click on the image. That's probably not ideal for tutorials, where screenshots need to be clear and clicking/flipping windows is going to be a distraction, and newbies may not even know it's available.
