Error 1304

I am getting a 1304 error no matter what version of OpenOffice 2.3 (tried dev build too) I try to install. Running Vista Home Premium. Please help.

You're right. Sorry about that. I discovered more detail as I beat my head against the computer past midnight. Then I went to sleep, and voila, the community provides. Thank you.

Can you tell us what worked for you? There are several explanations and fixes mentioned in the threads linked from that other message.

Actually, nothing has worked to me. This problem is no longer [solved]. So perhaps one thread does not suffice? Pasting the .dll to system 32 does not work, and as for the CD Drive related fix, I'm not installing this from a CD drive, so...

There was also the "install to a different directory" suggestion, and the "registry cleanup" suggestion. Any luck with those?
