[Solved] Site Branding

Post by dave2wave »

Hi Guys,

FYI - The main page for the forums still has the legacy Oracle logo and copyright. Please apply the changes already made to the forums to the main page. Let us know at ooo-dev if you need help.

Regards,
Dave

The terms of use are referencing a page on the domain openoffice.org. This resolves to an IP (192.9.164.104) that is significantly different from the user.services.openoffice.org and http://www.openoffice.org, which are both in 140.211.11.0/24. Still a whois request lists "Apache Software Foundation" as the organization that registered the domain.
I am not sure if anyone of us in the forum has access to the openoffice.org pages (so maybe better to link to something else). Anyone knows if the start page http://user.services.openoffice.org/ is part of the phpBB forum? I would doubt this. Hm, the content comes from index.php, so there is a chance that it is part of phpBB.
OpenOffice 3.1.1 (2.4.3 until October 2009) and LibreOffice 3.3.2 on Windows 2000, AOO 3.4.1 on Windows 7
There are several macro languages in OOo, but none of them is called Visual Basic or VB(A)! Please call it OOo Basic, Star Basic or simply Basic.

The openoffice.org pages are still on Oracle Kenai leaving hook up to legacy mailing lists and logins from extensions and templates functional. I had only noticed that the main front page was wrong. The terms of use here is wrong. We can easily add a proper terms of use to www.openoffice.org.

The start page is part of the phpBB. So, there are two to dos: Fix the Terms of Use links and change out the Oracle logo on the start page.

Since our main maintainer (TerryE) has left, Drew is the only one able to do that I think. You should check with him or with the guys who have made the transfer to the ASF servers with Terry.
