How on earth do I make contact with someone at OOo? Have tried clicking on link for support but keep getting message "C ould not perform this operation because default mail client not properly installed" Please can someone help? Thanking you.

Note that your error message is due to a bad configuration of the default mail application on your OS. See for example: Changing default email client.
But anyway, no support with the address you have got. Post here or in the mailing list (see OOo help page on the main site) if you're not afraid of such a help channel.
