[Solved] ATTN: Admins / Moderators

Post by thinman3 »

Thought you might want to know that the OOoForum.org site is being mass spammed ( 20 pages +) so that some type
of counter measures could be instituted to prevent this forum from being blitzed.

The creation of this forum by the old timers here has been launched because there was no response from the oooforum admin. We tried to talk to him to find a solution and since there was no way, we decided to make a new forum. For the record, oooforum even went off 2 times (during one day each time) because the fee for the domain name had not been paid.

As for the spam, first the registration process takes care of that and second, the moderator team is rather reactive and the spam doesn't last very long (a couple of hours max I would say). phpBB has a useful feature: the report button in the header of the message, any user can then show the moderators which posts have to be handled.

Please add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

NB: moved to Site Feedback.
