[Solved] Posting avatar size

Post by alwaysthinking51 »

I want to post an avatar with my profile but I don't have any files that are small enough(pics) as far as either pixels or kb. The requirement is very small. And if I try to "reduce" using Lexmark Photo Executable program is gets too blurry.Any suggestions? :D

Some images are simply not usable as avatars; as you say, they become unintelligible when reduced to that size.

If you like, you can attach the larger image here; I expect someone can take a look and make a suggestion.

OK here is the image I would like to use. I am not very good with programs like that.

The trouble is you're starting with a very large and detailed image. To reduce the size you need to reduce the detail. When you remove the amount of detail you need to remove in order to get your image down to avatar size, you lose almost everything that makes the image recognizable, especially as it is a brown bird on a brown background.

Anyway, this is as good as I could get it.

This one might be a tiny bit better:

+1
As we can see in the image NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.
Then if alwaysthinking51 hasn't the autorization to use it, it's ilegal in the forum as avatar.
I think all are commited to cooperate in a right way.
The world and the net are wide enought to find a free rights image for the avatar or take or draw it yourself.

Just because something is protected by copyright doesn't mean it can't be used for any purpose.
