Will OpenOffice open files with .wps or .wdb?

Re: Microsoft Works
Currently the standard version of OpenOffice.org does not work with those file types.
Works does allow you export ( save as ) these files to formats that you can use however -
*.doc, *.dbf

Hi,
I have the same question about .wps
If you state that the "standard" version can not import .wps, is there a version or plugin that can? Is something like that planned?
Thanks

Re: Microsoft Works
yes, for .wps you can use the version of OpenOffice.org available from http://Go-oo.org - this is basically the same source tree that is used to build many of the Linux distribution versions of OpenOffice.org and the Novell version.
This is a mixed bag however - for somethings they are ahead in the release cycle from the man oo.o files, for others they are somewhat behind. Right now they are listing a last build date of 10/8/2007 I believe, which would put them one release behind from the 2.3.1 release at OpenOffice.org.
Then again you can install more then one copy of OpenOffice.org at a time, so if you want to try it you could do so without having to de-install any other one.
For instructions on installing multiple copies of OO.o see:
