Re: Opening Outlook files
Are you talking about a .pst file? As far as I know, only Outlook can open them.

Re: Opening Outlook files
Yes, but I'm inexperienced and thought something in Office would open it.
So I was using a work computer with Win 7 and saved the emails to a CD.
The took the CD home to my XP computer and the Outlook will not open it (them).
Is there a very low cost way to pen and read them and send them on to others to read?
Or, if not, can I just send them to someone with Win7 and have them open the emails and save them so I can read them?
I wouldn't be using XP on an old Office 2000 computer if I had money to buy a new computer.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Rod

Have you googled the web? You may find freewares that open .pst.
But AOO cannot do that.

Re: Opening Outlook files
I did not save or move the PST file, just dragged and dropped the email to a folder and copied that folder.
Is it still a PST at that point? That is why I am not calling it a PST with my limited experience. It was just an email dragged and dropped, then copied onto a CD.

Try with Thunderbird perhaps.

I think your first step is to determine just what kind of file(s) you have on the CD.
Put the CD into your drive, then open it like you would any folder on your computer.
If the display isn't in list format, then change it to that.
You might be able to see the extension(s) of the files on the drive. If you can, make a note of what they are.
I think this'll be the minimum information needed for us to be able to help any further.
