Pocket Pc files

Hi,
i cannot open pocket pc files. i have installed the option to do this. Help says when you click open it should then ask you file type, but it doesn't. if i just try to open the file, it comes up with a pop up.
i can save as a *.pxl file, but then i can't open it again.
any help much appreciated.

How are you transferring the files from Pocket PC to OpenOffice computer?
