[Solved] Open PDF document for editing

Post by sugarTS »

[Solved]I used to be able to open any PDF with Openoffice impress.
Now it asks about ASCII filter options and just comes up with nonsense.
I've been looking at some of the other questions dealing with PDF and I don't understand but maybe we had some other program on the server that worked with OO to deal with PDF's. I was able to take a PDF from our supplier and remove their logo and put in ours. Then change the prices to reflect our markup, edit phone numbers etc.

You need to install the PDF extension from the extensions repository, reached through
http://www.openoffice.org
It should open your PDF in Draw.

See [Solved] Can't open any PDF but remember that the PDF format is not designed to be edited, it's a digital/paper print.

Very often, it's quicker to redo the whole file.

Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

Thanks RoryOF, that was it. When the servers went down last month I guess that was one detail I missed.
