Apache OpenOffice Community Forum

Is it possible to only install one of the OpenOffice components (the word processor)? Or do I need to install the entire thing and then uninstall the ones that I don't want? Is that possible? Or do I have to carry the entire suite on my computer?

I saw this question asked in a 2009 thread, but not sufficiently answered. I couldn't find it elsewhere.

Install all or you must have a deep/good understanding of OOo

You should install everything, even if you don't plan to use it. Installing only certain parts gives almost no benefit and often leads to problems. It's just not worth the hassle.
