[Solved] Can't open any PDF

Post by emilylane1 »

Hi all, I have just downloaded the OO 3.2.0 as i read a few forums that other users had used it successfully with windows 7 64bit where they were unable to use the latest versions.
successfully installed but every time i try to open a pdf file the ASCII filter comes up and i dont know what the correct setting s should be on there? or if the filter should come up at all? from what i have read so far on your forums i should be able to open a document without this popping up at all?

I have tested the file to check its not corrupt, i have the file on a flash drive and it opens perfectly on an older laptop that has windows vista and adobe so there is nothing wrong with the file.

what am i doing wrong?? tried several files and they all do same thing....ASCII filter box options

HELP :0)

OOo does not open PDF files except if you use the PDF Import Extension http://extensions.services.openoffice.o ... f%20import. You can open files in Draw for very limited editing. Much better to use a PDF reader like Adobe reader http://get.adobe.com/reader/ or Foxit reader http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/. Both are free.
