Paperport and PDF images

I have Nuance Paperport 12 and it scans to pdf IMAGES only for some weird reason.
I need to edit my pdf's and in older versions could do this with Paperport, but now I cannot.
os:XP SP 3
I do not have MS Office but was told oOo could do all that MS Office does.
How do I save my edited document to a pdf?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If you search this forum you will find that OOo can export to PDF. With the PDF Import extension it can open PDFs in Draw and gives very limited editing abilities. Not the best tool for the job. If there is an OCR program with PaperPort you may be able to us that to get the text part in to Writer.
