[Solved] Reading a pdf

first post for me

i've tried the survival guide got no where
problem: have a .pdf file that i downloaded from a website. when i click on it OOo opens but i do not get the picture, I get a dialog box, something about ascii filters, if i click ok on it i get text, weird text, no pic. i thought this worked years ago. what am i doing wrong?

OOo isn't and never has been a PDF reader or editor. Use Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader, or some other PDF reader.
