How do I view Works documents?
Is there a way that i have not been able 2 find to open docs with ".wps" file extension. which is the extension for Microsoft Works formated docs?

If you find a method that works for you, you would be well advised to convert all your Works documents to their equivalent OpenOffice format and make a total transition to the new format. There will almost certainly be format problems; very rarely are transitions between programs without such problems.
