Hi
I have recently bought an acer aspire one netbook - a posh name for a note book? Unbeknownst to us, the operating system is Linux and not MS and the software is oo. i don't have a problem with this - apart from lack of familiarity and we'll get over that with practice. but it would be great to be able to move files on to our pc - ms vista, but oo won't open in ms - not obviously anyway. are they compatible?
by the way, i am not a techie, so layman speak would be great
thanks
ek
ps i got little help from acer tech support, they just said the two weren't compatible!

Hi and welcome to the forums.
Yes you can do this, you just need to save in Word .doc format.
File > Save As and select 'Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP' from the 'Save as type' drop down menu. Make sure the 'Automatic file name extension' option is checked.
If this has answered your question please go to your first post and use the Edit button, and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can use the green tick icon at the same time if you like.
