Address Book Confusion

I'm trying to create a new address book. I found your online tutorial & created the spreadsheet as described, then saved it as instructed. Then I tried to register it, but for some reason, I can't find the address book source button in the file>templates>address book source. All I see under templates is Organize, Save, & Edit. I looked in Organize & Edit but didn't see Address Book Source there either. I looked under File>Wizards & there is no Address Data Source there either! What am I doing wrong???

I'm a rank newbie-- my son downloaded Open Office for me, so I'm starting from scratch here. Any assistance would be very welcome!
