[Solved] Outlook Express Spell Check

Post by mjenkins »

Welcome beginner. What is your question or comment?
Please try to briefly and clearly tell us: What you want, What you tried, and What happened.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Outlook Express when writing a message, the spellcheck is not available. I looked for help and it says you need microsoft office, word, etc. for it to be available. I do not have any of these. Can Open Office be linked with Outlook somehow to enable the spellcheck feature? Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forums.

No.

But see this thread: Can OpenOffice Spell Check for Outlook Express?

Alternatively, download and install Thunderbird (and Lightning if you want to have a calendar etc). It will automatically import your Outlook account details, emails and contacts and comes with a spell checker. (And it's a far, far better email client IMHO.)

Thunderbird
Lightning

Ok- I'll look into this. Thank you!!

Used free spellcheck add on from majorgeek.com and it works great, easy to install.
