Macro virus

I have been getting al my office documents opening not in the type but in just all A's in boxes. the entire script in weird A box A

What the hell is it and how do I get rid of it, please.

Is this some other virus piece of crap.

What kind of documents? ODF (.odt / .ods / ...) or MS Office documents OOXML (.docx / .xlsx / ...)?
Can you upload a screenshot?
