Is OpenOffice dead?

Post by LinuXox »

Some months ago Denis Hamilton said, that OpenOffice May Shut down Due to Lack of Volunteers. https://winbuzzer.com/2016/09/05/micros ... rs-xcxwbn/

I wonder what is going on behind the scenes and if we have seen the last official version of OO already - would be sad to see it end like that.

Couldn't we go direct to 4.2.0? I have been using it since 28 July 2015 after downloading from the The Apache OpenOffice API Project development site and it has not given any problems when used with Base, Writer and Calc. Almost two years seems a long time between beta and final releases.
