There were no backup options in that forum for a moderator.
I copied the English and Italian versions publishing them in June on the Italian site listed here: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=83553#p388486.
They are static backups.
We have lost the last 3 months of threads.

It's not working for me too! That's sad. Looks like I'm late - could have given it a shot!

AOO users should be very glad to have this well structured forum. Defend it if modernism attacks one day!

Epitaph concerning libreofficeforum.org:
Another Victim Of Bad Decisions By Software Engineering Deciders
May Hope Be For LibreOffice Itself!

The "inofficial" LibreOfficeForum had by far the better potential as compared with the "official" askbot site. The present situation there is that you hardly can follow up the monotonous, often repetitive game of question - answer. Even the group of standard tags is not emphasised for casual visitors. The "automatic dropdown" , on the other hand, depends completely on the specific, often misleading choice of words.

This should better be posted there? How? There are no topics of discussion, just "questions".

Thanks to charlie.it!

Good work, I was close to posting something like that myself, it's a very frustrating place. Unfortunately, moderators may never notice it, that's what happened with a question I posted some weeks ago.

So: everybody please sign up there and vote up that question
 Edit: or post a reply
to make it get the attention that it should.

I can't vote up. No karma.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.

Post a reply, I will vote it up and you _have_ the karma. Just a great number of answers would also help.

The best community-supported support channel I've run into is http://support.mozilla.org
  • It's integrated with the product (help menu goes to main support page; all support resources are integrated/accessible from there, even asking people to help with support!)
  • You don't have to register to ask a question.
  • It guides the user through providing common info for troubleshooting.
  • It offers automated answers for previously asked questions (FAQs) and links to the "printed" reference material.
I don't know what an ordinary user would think of it (I can see it being a bit overwhelming/confusing for a lot of people) but it does address a lot of problems I see with the forums (or similar).
