[Solved] Give credit for solution to someone else's question

Post by AlwaysPaws »

I found the solution to a problem and don't see where to vote, so I entered a comment, added the solver's user ID and bolded it (MrProgrammer). I also selected the green checkmark.

Is this the proper way to give credit to the person who solved the issue?

Sounds good to me thought you might want to include the actual link as well.

jrkrideau - I'm a bit confused. I wanted to vote up or whatever in the forum post I was in. I wouldn't need to enter the link because I'm already there.

This forum doesn't have a voting method like you are describing. If a topic contains the term "Solved" (with or without quotation marks), then others may find the resolution for their problem in that topic.
The important thing to us, is that a problem gets resolved, and, for me, in the most efficient method available.
OpenOffice 4.1.7, LibreOffice 7.0.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate & Windows 10 Home (2004)
If you believe your problem has been resolved, please go to your first post in this topic, click the Edit button and add [Solved] to the beginning of the Subject line.
