Exchange email client alternative to outlook

Does anyone know of an alternative to outlook with an exchange connector? We are looking at openoffice but would prefer not to use outlook web access in absence of a real client alternative. THX!

This is quite an interesting question, we have seen a couple of discussions on this.
I think
this thread is the most comprehensive one. It also includes information on tools that support Exchange server.
