Multiple local folders in Thunderbird as pst files

Postby donykko » Thu Jun 12, 2008 12:15 pm

Hello everybody,

starting with TB now (old unix user).
to manage my emails I am presently using microsoft outlook in the
following way:
having all mails copied in local folders (which corresponds to a
xxx.pst file) and when the file reaches a certain size I simply rename
it an restart with empty local folders.

Whenever i want to check old mails i simply open the xxx.pst file that
i need and after found the data I want i can close it.

Is there any way i can manage similarly local folders with TB?

Thanks a lot for help.

This is not the right forum for Thunderbird questions - Thunderbird isn't part of the suite of applications (which include Writer, Calc, Impress, Base, Draw, etc.).

For questions about Thunderbird, the best place to start is at the Mozillazine Knowledge Base:
The following page on archiving email may be of interest to you:

If you don't find an answer there, then you could try the Mozillazine User forums:

I can tell you that Thunderbird mail is stored in a plain-text format that can be read using a simple text editor, but that wouldn't be my preferred method of accessing old messages. However, that's just a personal preference.
If your problem has been solved, please edit this thread's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line. Thanks!
