OOo under KDE4 ?

Post by DrewJensen »

Well -I installed KDE 4 on my Kubuntu AM64 box today - I think this is going to be a 'love it' or 'hate it' GUI for folks - I'm leaning towards the love it side.

However - as of the moment have had no luck in getting OpenOffice.org to run with it. There is actually a whole list of applications that seem to have problems, while some others seem to adapt quite well.
Edit: OOOPS - got it working...LOL...had to reinstall the whole package
Still can't get the automatic menu integration to work
and
the OOo icons look terrible at normal size in the task bar ( 48 pixels for a 1280 x 1024 res screen )

hmm - I believe that size is part of the Aqua package, maybe they should be in all the packages ( or maybe they are already there..? )

So - anyone here been successful with OOo under KDE 4?

Drew

PS - while I write this I have the compiler chuncking along trying a build of the package using the updates libraries for the UI integration, maybe that will do it....I'll know in about 6 hours

Any screenshots you could post? I'll be committing to KDE 4 when 4.1 is out which should be in a few months.
