What to use instead of outlook?

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.

Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? 2.3.1
What Operating System (version) are you using? XP
What is your question or comment? What can I use in stead of outlook?

Try Mozilla Thunderbird, unless you are hooked up to get your mail from an exchange server. I am not sure it would work with exchange.

I use the Evolution mail client, and I could hook up to an exchange server using Evolution http://shellter.sourceforge.net/evolution/ which has calendaring features and appt book features like outlook but it is open source and also free. It is available for windows, but I have only used the Linux version. Evolution has a nice familiar outlook-like feel to it.
