So Far I Love It

Post by deejoshy »

Please answer the following questions, along with describing your problem or question.

Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using: 2.3.1
What Operating System (version) are you using: Vista Basic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your question: I don't have a question. I just wanted to say what a fine product this is. I was using the new version of Microsoft Office 2007 and, for the life of me, could not figure out how to do a simple task like my business card or my business return labels. Neither could my roommate, or my Asian computer-geek friend. So I took a chance and downloaded Open Office, with a bit of trepidation, and was surprised at how quickly I knocked out the above issues. Everything was much more intuitive. I am completely surprised by this, as I have been on the Microsoft juggernaut for many years. My hat goes off to the people who have developed this. I feel very obligated to make a donation. The product is remarkable.

Furthermore, and for me, this is very bold, I actually deleted Office 2007 from my machine. That's how happy I am with Open Office. :) :D

Hey David, welcome to the forum :)

If you want to help out with OpenOffice.org, there are loads of ways... you can stick around here on the forum and help answer questions.... you can do stuff on the wiki too even if you're not a developer... the OOoWiki always needs fresh eyes looking at it and making corrections. The wiki is at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/

The OOo documentation is almost all on the Wiki now. You can find it at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation There you will find Tutorials, FAQs, User manuals and a bunch of other useful info to help you get started with OpenOffice.org
openSUSE 11.4, KDE4.6 with OpenOffice.org 3.3
