I just spent 4 HOURS now, trying to get text in 2 languages (English and Portuguese)
in a table of 3 columns to be on the same height,
and IT'S JUST IMPOSSIBLE ON THIS WORD PROCESSOR THAT DOESN'T PROCESS!

It sure doesn't handle foreign languages...

Probably you set the line spacing to 1.5, but didn't do that for the first line in column 2. You should always have Show non-printing characters on when you're editing and formatting text - that way you know what you're doing.

I registered just to say thank you to everybody responsible for OpenOffice.

I love OpenOffice and have now completely replaced MS office with it. It has all of the features I need and then some.

I even added Open Office to my website that lists free stuff you can find on the internet with a rating system. That way everybody has a chance to rate all of the free stuff on a scale from 1 to 10. I rated OpenOffice a 9 out of 10. Here is the link if anybody is interested in rating OpenOffice or any other freebies I have. If you rate something please share your opinion and reason for voting the way you did.

Hello and welcome. The thread title is somewhat misleading. A new version, the first released by the Apache Software Foundation, will be released soon. If you want to be notified, subscribe to the announce mailing list on this page.

EDIT: somehow I mistook the previous post as the first post in the thread.

This is a Open source software and there will be flaws, but developers are trying to fix the bug every time they find it.
