If you guys had listened to me a year ago, you wouldn't be wasting your precious time and energy with threads like this. This thread and all others like it would have been removed.

The purpose of this forum should be to offer constructive advice and help for OpenOffice users — not to argue the toss about the right to free speech.

See you after the Renaissance (maybe) if you wise up.

users are not wasting time fighting Renaissance, Renaissancers are wasting time and energies in very un-useful tries to mimic Ribbon for unknown (and unsaid) reasons (I mean: true reasons), instead to go to solve bugs. Renaissancers, negating ever the fact that users (specially experienced and heavy openoffice users hate this Ribbonifications Tales from Micro$oft - please, look at dollar sign -) they think in their mind they will impose to us their project

very, very vane illusion... (and waste of time)

@Bhikkhu Pesala

so are you asking to do censorship again on this thread?

all the users who are against Renaissance (and there are already 540 users that signed the petition) have the right to express their opinions.

@Tommy: You've expressed your opinion countless times here and elsewhere. I see you're now annoying users of other forums not related to OOo. Maybe you should start listening to other opinions instead of repeating your own ad nauseum.

there are, basically, three kind of people loving Ribbon-Renaissance GUI:

- Ribbon-Renaissance developpers (that need to justify their job and show their ability to make SPARKLING AND BLINKING BUT ANERGONOMIC GUIs)

- occasional or first-time users (that does not works heavily with Word/OpenOffice and need very basical features)

- Ribbon agit-prop- Micro$oft men, all other interested to contaminate with ribbon-virus any kind of app, so people can't escape from Ribbon and finally is constraint to use WORD

Ribbon, in fact, makes hard do things easy to do with a logic, ordinated good old GUI so, being human, and assuming we act logically, logic says we must reject Ribbon.

I ask once again: DEAR RENAISSANCERS; WHY LOVE YOU SO MUCH RENAISSANCE PROJECT? never replied to this question, maybe too hard to reply (or too easy)

@Bill

i'm just asking "sign the petition if you are agree" or "don't sign the petition if you are not agree"

i'm not criticizing the opinion of Ribbon/Renaissance fans and I'm not asking them to shut up or to leave the forum etc. etc.

i'm not insulting people who have a different opinion.

all thing that other people are telling to me just because they don't tolerate I'm not aligned with their thoughts...

and see, i'm just answering to all the false accuses and critics i'm receiving.
i have the right to replicate to others...

if you don't like or care about this thread, just unsubscribe from it...
but if you wanna keep posting in it you cannot pretend me to not reply...

You will return To M$ WORD suddenly if Renaissancers will be not stopped in any of their dangerous activities (this is what Micro$oft hope), so users can't escape from Ribbon. So in order to increase (and not decrease) number of OpenOfficers it is very important stop Renaissance

Please, don't be stoprenaissancersphobic, (I know you are not) My post is fully in topic, in fact people use OpenOffice also because they have seen M$ WORD (with Ribbon) and migrated to OpenOffice (specially in windows) in order to escape from the nightmare of Ribbon

Keeping good old GUI, 20% or more may easily achieved in short time

Most people DON'T CARE about the bl**dy Ribbon. They just want to get on and do some productive work! Why don't you try doing the same?

I've merge posts that had been posted in 13% of Windows users use OpenOffice.org and warned Dingo-dog because:
First, the initial topic is absolutely not related to the GUI, his clearly hijacking a thread to promote the Renaissance troll.
Second:
Dingo-Dog wrote:in fact people use OpenOffice also because they have seen M$ WORD (with Ribbon) and migrated to OpenOffice (specially in windows) in order to escape from the nightmare of Ribbon
This is just non sense. Your assimilation to MS haters/Ribon lovers is becoming insulting.

i just wanted to tell everybody that those scam links about fake OOo sites are no longer present on the petition site.

i received many critics and even false accuses because of those links but now they are gone.

however that did not stop the petition and we reached 638 signatures

other links are present now.. i don't know what is the content of them since i never click on advertising banners and i suggest you to do the same.
