Does anyone know if an email platform like outlook or outlook express are in the pipeline for Open Office?

There are some things on the go. This was presented at the OOoCon 2007 in Barcelona

It is all about the Lightning plugin for Thunderbird.

That is probably the most likely overall candidate. According to the presentation, they are looking for proposal for OOo integration Post 1.0 of Lightning.

I use Thunderbird and Lightning at work, and it is pretty nice.
