Will OpenOffice be supported if Sun is bought by other companies?
I worry that one day I cannot use the new version or forum of OpenOffice.

OpenOffice.org isn't only Sun... Sun is just one member of a large community contributing to OpenOffice.org. If you want to name big companies... IBM, RedOffice, Novell are also deeply committed to OpenOffice.org. The big companies are not the only ones with their fingers in the development. There is also all the volunteers who add their bit... core code, extensions, templates, documentation.
As well, OpenOffice.org is.. open source. This means that if any major supporter lost interest for whatever reason, the application will not fade away. As long as there is a community interested in continuing OpenOffice.org it will continue to be developed. This is the case with all open source products. Welcome to open source you're no longer at the mercy of the whims of some mystery board of directors somewhere.

What may happen is that StarOffice as a branded version of OpenOffice will vanish. At this point, as far as I can tell, there no longer are any code differences between OOo and SO.
