Word 2016 Issue

If this doesn't belong here, my apologies. Have Word 2016 and need to wrap text. So I already wrote out my paper and went to select text wrap and it's already grayed out. So I was like what if I just open a brand new document what will happen and it's already grayed out. What am I missing?

Text Wrap on a menu is for wrapping text around an object. Text wrap at the margin is automatic. If no object is selected, Text Wrap should be grayed out.
