I know this has been asked several times before and it was working 6 months ago but I cannot get it to work again.
I am saving a very simple document and want to protect it so add a password with the save as property. This works fine.
Then because i am sending the document via email to other devices I want to save as a protected PDF.
So I add passwords to the PDF setup and then export it. The file is not protected and neither is the password saved in PDF settings.
Maybe I am missing something but dont know what.

Re: Why PDF password isn't working ?
This is what I just did:
Open a text document.
Call menu:File>Export as PDF...
On the first tab [General] the option "PDF/A1-1a" must not be checked.
On the [Security] tab I click [Set passwords ...], enter the same password twice and confirm the password dialog.
Click [Export], specify a path and file name.
Finally, open the exported PDF with a PDF reader. It displays the exported document after prompting for the correct password.
