Update OpenOffice → Error reading data from the Internet

Post by Star »

I'm currently using OpenOffice 4.1.7, I recently saw that newer versions are out so tried updating my OpenOffice through the "Check for Updates" option in the 'help' section of the menu bar. But it is failing to do so and is displaying the following message:-

Error reading data from the Internet.
Server error message: .

I've proper internet connection and no other application opened except for OpenOffice, still the same message is there when I try to update. Please specify any solution.

Download the new version from http://www.openoffice.org/download

You will be taken to a SourceForge fileserver and your download will start in 5 seconds. You do not need to click on anything else at SourceForge.

But, will I have to manually uninstall the current OpenOffice first? Or when I will setup the new OpenOffice, it will be taken care of?

The installer will take care of that.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.
