[Solved]Problems with Extensions

Post by gkick »

Hi,

Not sure whats happening on my machine. Had some extensions installed and working fine for some time. Today when trying to install a new one, I noticed they have vanished. Attempting to install the Base Documenter extension I get the message that the extension does not exist even though its sitting nicely in the download folder.
Nothing has changed on my machines config other then that I recently installed xampp but would not think that would interfere with LO ???

Anyone else lost extension in the past?

Thanks

Reinstall the lot to fix

How you tried to install it? By a double click on the name of the .oxt file?
Has the downloaded file ".oxt" extension? Sometimes the Windows or the built-in browser will rename the file to .zip extension (Because it is a .zip archive really.). In this case you must change it back the file extension to .oxt.

Thanks for your prompt response. The download has correct oxt extension. First attempt to install via Tools, Extension Manager, Add and select the file = error
Then second time round I tried via doubleclick, third time round not download but open via LO. None of the above worked.
But am more concerned about the disappearance of previously installed extensions.

...and there are old extensions that are not compatible with the newer versions of the LibreOffice...
but this usually does not affect their installation...

I just tried it: The version 0.6.0. of this extension downloaded and installed without any problem on my LO 6.2.8 portable version. I can not try it, because I never used the Base application...

@gkick: Did you get a message to enter your name and initials, similar to that you got on first installation of LibreOffice or OpenOffice?
