Transferring Ownership

Post by ambs »

Hello

What is the process to transfer ownership for an extension?
In this case, the ownership of the European Portuguese spell checking dictionary.

Thank you

This may not be the best place to get an answer for that--what exactly do you mean by "ownership"?

Someone to legally own the rights? Someone to take over maintenance & updates? Something else?

Basically, I am the new maintainer for the European Portuguese Dictionary. We would like to be able to transfer that extension to me, so that I can upload new versions (instead of creating a new extension).

Probably not the best place to ask, but didn't find a better place :)

Cheers

Wasn't the extension site transferred to Sourceforge recently? I believe it used to be hosted at a university, but I seem to have some memory that it was moved when OOo was moved to Apache.

In any case, I think you probably need to contact the project leaders through Apache, which means the mailing list--which list would be best, I couldn't begin to guess. There are links to the project mailing lists through the main page: www.openoffice.org
