What happened to Report Builder in 5.1.6.2.

Post by pizzipie »

Hi,

I have one computer on which I use LibreOffice 5.0.5.2.

The Report Builder Design Format contains a nice layout showing :
page header, detail, page footer containing labels and data boxes which can be edited easily/moved etc.
using the property winow. It also has the report navigator and properties side bar.

On my wife's computer I just installed Ubuntu 16.04 which contains LibreOffice 5.1.6.2. The Report Builder Design Format
seems to be totally different. Gone are the features above ( As far as I can tell; I haven't used it very much yet). If what I see is what you get I'm going back to 5.0.6.2 if that's possible.

Hope someone can explain this to me.

Thanks,
R

Simply install the report builder of your repository in addition to the office suite of the same repository.
Install synaptic.
Start synaptic.
Search for availlable libreoffice packages.

Do NOT use install any other office suite unless you know what you are doing. LO 5.1.6 simply works. It is integrated with Unity which is a very nice improvement when you are using the HUD.
