Printing labels

Post by rleonetti »

I get a sheet of labels in writer that shows the field names in the proper places.

When I go to print, it fills in the first row of data (3 columns in my case), prints the rest of the first sheet showing the field names, and on subsequent pages fills in the data and prints properly. What am I missing?

(sometimes I get a "connections" error. I have not been able to correct it, without starting over, even though it shows the correct data base and path)

How did you create the label document? What steps did you use?

Try View > Field Names: YES, and check that each label has exactly one "next record" field, and that it refers to the correct data source.

Here's a long page of all kinds of useful stuff to do with labels: Labels Tutorials
This is another good resource: FSM Mail merge Tutorial

If you work through these two pages you'll be a labels ace.

If you follow the information in the links above you shouldn't have any issues. if you do that, and you still have some questions, then post back here.

I read through them and it still doesn't work. I did manage to get it to work when I print to file, then open the file and print the labels, that is a good work around but it is still a bug. I tried it on another Mac same problem.

Everything worked as it should on Ubuntu 9.04. I could print directly to printer and not have to print to file. So, I don't know if it is a MAC issue with printer drivers or an OO issue.

Sadly I don't have aMac to test with. Maybe one of the Mac users on here can give this a go.

In case it makes a difference, what type of printer do you have?
