Data updates do not show

Post by happ »

I used the Base wizard to create a database from my Calc spreadsheet. However, when I update the data in Calc, the updates do not show in Base. Refresh does nothing. Is there some option to make the spreadsheet changes show in Base? Thanks.

Changes in calc are only picked-up by base when you have saved it.

Press the refresh button on the Form Navigation toolbar.

You've got to save the spreadsheet to disk and then close and reopen the database connection. Refresh buttons of all kinds fail.

What works is either one of:
1. In Writer or Calc hit F4 (data source window), right-click and close the connection.
2. Restart the office suite including the stupid "quick-starter".

Same problem with text databases (*.csv). There is no such problem with dBase. dBase has a lot more advantages over spreadsheets anyway.
