Hi guys.
I'm trying to write a simple DB application with OpenOffice 4.0.0 that stores data on a remote mySQL server.
I'm working on a Windows7 PRO SP1 8GB Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3520M CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2901 Mhz, 2 core, 4 logic processors.
I installed the aoo-mysql-sdbc extension 1.2.0 http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/pro ... fice-120-2
But it works so slowly!
It takes some 90" to show the table list (there is only one table, so far!) and some more 120" to get the table content, only three simple rows so far.
Just to investigate, I used some MySQL remote front-end, like MySQL-Front http://www.mysqlfront.de/ and others, and all of them connect to the remote server at soon, and they show the table content in a matter of seconds. Not rocket fast, but much much better than OO-db.
So I can guess that the problem isn't on the "stevie" server side http://www.heliohost.org/home/features/databases/mysql but on the oo-db side.
What's the problem, on your opinion?
Does anyone already had a similar problem on Windows7 ? I already read something about Ubuntu, but it's a different environnement.
Thanks for your attention.
Salvatore.

Re: OpenOffice DB so slow with remote MySQL
I am also interested in a solution to this issue. So far I cannot find one, and I am also experiencing very slow connectivity to my remote MySQL server.
OpenOffice 4.0.1 running on Windows 7 64bit
