Connecting to a MySQL based application

Post by Laurent »

I would like to view and edit the data and the data tables used by Simply Accounting 2008 (SA2008). SA2008 uses MySQL to store data. Is it possible to connect to this database using Base.

I am a novice in DB management and I have used MySQL Browser to do this once. However, I found it difficult to use.

Would it be easier to use Base? How would I proceed with Base?

Hi as long as you know the basic information:

Database name, User Name and password you should have no problems.

You have two choices for connecting JDBC or ODBC - and you can find a quick over view of how to do this on the OOo Wiki at
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wik ... SQLandBase

I haven't look at that page in a while, and someone else set it up..so if you have questions please come back and

a) we'll get them answered
b) update the page appropriately

Hi Drew,
Yes, I think the update of the wiki page is kind of urgent :-)
