[Solved] Totally converting an MS Access DB to Base

Post by pmulcahy11b »

I have an MS Access 2002 database that I have converted to Base. Unfortunately, the Base database still depends on the MS Access database; I cannot now delete the Access database. How can I make the converted base database independent of the MS Access database, so I can delete the MDB file?

Create a new .odb file, drag and drop tables from old file to new table area, copy wizard came up, follow it.

The only way I know is to export the database from Access into a spreadsheet. Then open the spreadsheet in Calc, select all and copy it to the clipboard. In Base go to tables and paste the data in the area the tables are listed. This should start a new table wizard. Once complete the data now exists in your Base file and the Access file should no longer be needed.

Trying to get the same mission accomplished, but get the error message "column size is required in statement..."

Trying to copy at least one table from an Access 2003 db over to OOBase. Any help appreciated.
