[Solved] Converting BDE engine to run on Base

Post by geoff_fowler47 »

I have a Windows application that is built on Borland Data Engine. I have Windows with Parallels emulator installed on my MacBook Air but I get an error message that the BDE can't initialise. Can I get a workaround to use this programme somehow Geoff

I have found an easy way. I have installed CodeWeaver which apparently converts windows code into Apple, Chromebook or Unix code (user selects the OS). It does not require windows OS or an emulator to be installed. (I have removed both from my MacBook Air). The Windows application with the BDE runs perfectly directly on the Apple OS. CodeWeaver, according to their website, may nor work for every windows app or game but it worked for me. It is opensource like OpenOffice so can be expanded by the developers. It is also relatively cheap at UK£38-46 per copy. Geoff
