Hi all,
Is there a way have the color of a formatted field automatically change based on the value? Note, the value is a word not a number.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Conditional Formatting - Color of Field
I have in the past made the value stored in the Base table be a number, and made the formatted field different colored text (different colors and different text) based on the number. Within OpenOffice, you can open the help file and go to "number format codes" to see the way to do this.
I'm not aware of any GUI way to change to the font color if the underlying table value is text, and not aware of any GUI way at all to change the background color. If the formatted field is standalone, this could be done with a macro, if you were interested in a programming way to do it. If the formatted field is inside a tablecontrol/gridcontrol, it is not possible to change the color of individual rows or columns - any formatting (aside from the number format codes) applies to the entire table.
